Announcing our exciting 2023-24 concert season!

The region’s leading large classical choir, Worcester Festival Choral Society, has announced three spectacular concerts at Worcester Cathedral for 2023-24 – and the Box Office is now open! (Monday 17 July)
The 140-strong choir, which has brought the choral greats to Worcester since 1861 and was often conducted by Sir Edward Elgar in its early days, will be performing:
- Brahms’s Ein Deutsches Requiem (A German Requiem) (alongside Wagner's beloved orchestral piece, Siegfried Idyll) on Saturday 25 November
- Handel’s Messiah on Saturday 9 December
- Beethoven’s Mass in C, plus Mirror of Perfection by award-winning British composer Richard Blackford, on Saturday 16 March 2024
The choir is trained and conducted by Worcester Cathedral’s Director of Music, Samuel Hudson. Each concert will feature internationally acclaimed soloists and the Meridian Sinfonia orchestra, and starts at 7.30pm.

Worcester Festival Choral Society opens its 2025-26 concert season on Saturday 22 November with a stunning programme of major choral and orchestral works.
The beautiful, ethereal 1947 Requiem by French composer Maurice Duruflé is his best-known piece, and one of the finest works in the choral repertoire.
